Young Children on the Web

November 2007: International Early Childhood Education: The world is a big place, and with this issue we offer an expanded version of Beyond the Journal (BTJ). To further enhance your knowledge of early childhood education around the world, see five articles published exclusively online. You’ll also find an expanded version of an article from the November 2007 issue of Young Children as well as additional resources and three columns.

In this issue of Beyond the Journal, readers will see the following graphic on the opening page of most articles in PDF format:
naeyc

The numbers represent the 10 NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards that define quality for child care, preschool, and kindergarten programs. They indicate which of the standards are addressed through the content of the article. This notation identifies information relevant to early childhood educators who are engaged in program quality improvement and/or seeking NAEYC Accreditation. For an introduction to the NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and Accreditation Criteria online, go to www.naeyc.org/accreditation/performance_criteria/program_standards.html.
