Leadership in Early Childhood Education
There are many pathways to becoming a leader and many ways leaders can advocate for sound policies and practices in the early childhood field. In this issue of Beyond the Journal, we offer a number of resources on the topic of leadership.
In two articles, well-regarded early childhood leaders describe how they became leaders and offer advice to others on how to do the same. We provide information on fellowship opportunities and a list of print and online resources. Finally, there is a description of NAEYC’s exciting new leadership development effort—a new Supporting Teachers, Strengthening Families National Leadership Program operating within the Professional Development Division.
On another note, one educator tells us his thoughts and strategies for nurturing courage in young children during fearful times.
